Being Outside!

We play outside every day! We have adventures in our private, child-sized ‘forest’ - our gated community garden - three mornings a week for outdoor school. We love mud, nature, exploring, taking supported risks, and letting imaginations run wild out in the fresh air.

Doing It Ourselves!
Chores, daily responsibilities and purposeful work help our friends take ownership of their environment and feel capable and proud of their accomplishments.

Creativity!
Cutting, painting, sticking, drawing and sculpting help friends to express themselves, while dramatic play helps friends engage with and understand their world.

Moving!
We love to leap, spin, balance and climb, to help big, strong muscles grow bigger. We dance, stretch or do yoga, and play outside every day.

Stories!
We will always love the magic within the pages of a book, and we tailor our ever-changing bookshelves to supplement conversations we’re having in class. Like Roald Dahl said, “All you do is look, at a page in this book...No book ever ends, when it's full of your friends.” 

Being Cool to our Environment!
We incorporate recycling and composting into our daily activities.  We use carbon-neutral energy sources and sustainable resources, and – for friends that aren’t yet using the toilet – we’re cloth-diaper friendly. 

Being Cool to Each Other!
We help friends learn positive interactions, use their words to describe their feelings and work together to build a happy community. In our mixed age group playschool, there are many chances for friends to learn from each other and solve problems together.
